Do you have VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Mini-DV or 8mm (Digital 8/Hi-8) video tapes of cherished family memories that you would like to preserve for years to come?
If your answer is "YES",
consider transfering those memories to DVD discs!
The facts about tape cassettes and DVD are that
every time you copy your video tape to another
video tape to share with grandparents, siblings,
etc..., the video quality degrades. If you have
your personal home movies on DVD, and you want to
make copies for family members, you will be
making copies from a digital source and your
copies will look as good as the original.
Also, video tape degrades over time. I recently
viewed my own wedding video tape that is over 14
years old, and there was noticeble degradation in
tape quality. The tape had frame drop-outs, and
static lines across the video. It is very costly
and time consuming to correct these problems, but
you can prevent further degredation.
Once it is transfered to DVD, it will maintain
it's current quality with no further degradation
for years to come.
Another advantage to transfering your video
memories to DVD is the option to add menus,
titles, and chapter markers, just like you see on
commercial DVD's.
